The design brief was to create a garden to be used as a showcase for the work of the Charity (A.N.T.). A black cat had to be incorporated into the design (Cheshire's logo).

Garden description.
Enter our garden through a Ring of Hope, clothed in sweet scented Lonicera japonica. Follow one of the friendly black Cheshire cats into a safe haven for children to play.
The lower deck invites you into a world of make believe. Enter the Pea-green boat, fly the flag, hoist the sail (especially on a sunny day) and ride through a sea of flowers. Mirrors reflect light and hope into this space. A gentle sloping lawn entices you up to join a Tea party or down for hill rolling.
Sit and relax on the upper deck area. Whilst keeping an eye on the children at play, the lilac-blue mosaic water feature will tickle your senses (and definitely theirs!) For sandy feet and table-games choose one of the circular play features within the 'Yorkstone' paved area.
Strength and familiarity is gained through a strong repeated colour scheme that drifts across the garden. The acidic yellow implies optimism, the blue pacifies ant the green is the compatible match.

Inspirational note: I have chosen 'The Owl and the Pussy-cat' (a timeless classic) as the theme for a child's garden: Anthony Nolan died age 7.
Cheshire Building society supports many children's charities.
